First SuperDog Winning Entry for David Tombs Photography

Congratulations to David Tombs Photography (Battisford) who has achieved his first winning entry in the SuperDog of the Month competition!

David’s entry of Lexie the German Shepard was very popular with both of our Photographer and Dog Owner judging panels, which means Lexie’s owner can look forward to receiving a winner’s certificate, plus a £25 Pets at Home voucher. Lexie’s image will also be entered into SuperDog of the Year when they could win £1000 in the annual competition!

David started taking professional photographs over twenty years ago whilst serving in the Army. Having enjoyed much success, he moved into full-time photography in 2012, with his own bespoke studio in the heart of Suffolk. David says, “Being a full-time photographer allows me to give the service and attention to customers that they deserve, and having my own studio means I have the environment and time to develop and hone my skills to ensure that I produce beautiful photographs for everyone I work with.

“Thanks to SuperDog of the Month for this award, much work went into this image but all worth it. Thank you also to this majestic dog, a pleasure to work with. I feel that it is so important for a professional photographer to have ones work judged by a qualified panel, keeps me on my toes.”

In 2014 David gained official recognition from the Master Photographers Association (MPA) by being awarded his Licentiate qualification in Portrait and Wedding photography. He went on to follow this with a Merit award from the MPA in 2016 for his “Life Time” photography.

David says “Click with the person before you click with the shutter” which summarises his overall approach, enabling him to achieve relaxed images of clients and capturing moments that no one else has managed to. He goes on to say, “my work is my passion, I love what I do. Interacting with people, sometimes pets gives me a warm feeling and most of all seeing the expression of my client’s faces when they see their images. I get a huge buzz from making people happy”.

The family-friendly studio is located on the grounds of David’s home in Battisford and is a log cabin construction that was completed in July 2017, so is a new studio. It is in a fantastic rural setting and the garden has been carefully considered so that outdoor environmental family, and children’s portraits, can be taken just a few feet away. The studio is in a fantastic rural setting, but only 5 minutes from Needham Market in Suffolk with a rail, and regular bus route. David can boast that his clients can park 2 feet from the studio door, so no parking fees or cold walks! It is a perfect opportunity to combine having a wonderful photography experience with David and have a day in the country as well!
