Congratulations to Luna – SuperDog of the Year Winner! 🏆❤️🐶

Cocker Spaniel Luna is the winner of the SuperDog of the Year competition!

With 110 entries in the 2023/24 competition, Luna’s image came out on top and was popular with the public, owners and sponsor judging panels. She claims the title of SuperDog of the Year, plus £1000 for her owner!

Luna’s image was captured by Richard Shymansky, who co-manages his studio in Maidenhead (Shymansky Portrait Photographer Ltd.) with his wife Zoe.

Richard achieved his first SuperDog bi-monthly competition win with Luna’s image in 2024. Since then, he’s gone on to achieve another win, two Top-10 Finalist images, and now his first winning image in our annual competition.

Commenting on the studio’s success, Richard told us:

Winning SuperDog of the Year is an absolutely wonderful and truly unexpected honour. After years of competing, and then a long break, I only recently decided to re-enter the world of dog photography competitions – and I’m incredibly glad I did! To have secured two SuperDog of the Month titles, one with Luna and another with Milo, already exceeded my wildest hopes. But to now be awarded Super Dog of the Year feels truly amazing.

Photographing Luna was an absolute joy; her vibrant spirit and dynamic movement were precisely what I aimed to capture. To achieve this vision and win with it brings me immense happiness. I’m also thrilled for my wonderful clients, Blake and Rebecca, who will receive the well-deserved £1,000 prize. My deepest gratitude goes to the organisers for creating such a remarkable platform that celebrates the unique beauty and incredible spirit of our canine friends – it’s a celebration I am truly proud to be a part of.
