Winning Image for Red the Dog and Individual Photography

Congratulations to Jo Connor who has achieved a winning entry in the August 2019 SuperDog of the Month competition!

Her entry of Red (a Fox Red Labrador) scored points from each of our judging panels (Facebook, Photographers, Dog Owners and our Sponsors) and this means Red’s owners will soon receive a £25 Pets at Home voucher and winner’s certificate. Red’s image will also be included in the 2019 SuperDog of the Year competition where it could be chosen to win £1000!

This is Jo’s second winning image in our competition, following her July 2019 win with Derek the Dachshund. Commenting on this win, Jo told us “It was such good fun photographing, puppy Red. He sat really well throughout his session, probably partly due to his mum being a dog trainer! But this winning image just about summed him up at the end – “can I go home now, mum, I’m a bit tired”. I am delighted he has been chosen as a winner and his mum is over the moon too!

Jo is a Somerset-based portrait photographer, who owns and operates, Individual Photography. Her passion is photographing babies, children, families, and pets. Not just “a nice person with a camera”, she gained professional qualifications with the Master Photographers Association (MPA) and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and was awarded “Monochrome Photographer of the Year 2012” by the latter.

In 2013 the studio was relocated to much larger premises in Cheddar, and Jo is now able to accommodate larger family groups in one of the two studio areas. Never photographing more than two clients a day allows her the flexibility to fit in with times that are convenient for you.

If weekends or early evenings suit you better? Not a problem. Jo has a very easy-going nature which encourages you to relax and have fun during your shoot. This not only ensures you get great images but that you enjoy your session too!

Jo’s aim is to fully understand what you want from your session. Do you already have an idea in mind of what you like (or don’t like?). Jo will get in touch prior to the shoot to discuss all of your needs. Knowing the answer to these questions helps her to understand and prepare so that she can get things absolutely perfect for you.

The pre-session meetings allow you to feel comfortable and relaxed, safe in the knowledge that you know what to expect and to look forward to the session itself. Jo also knows that having professional photographs might be a bit nerve-wracking or stressful, but she promises to put you at ease, and you’ll leave the studio thinking, “Wow, that was so much fun!

From the ample on-site parking to the choice of refreshments and facilities, Jo hopes that from the moment you arrive at the studio you will feel welcomed and comfortable.

Once your images have been edited (and Jo promises that you will recognise yourself – you won’t have been airbrushed to death), you will be invited back to choose your favourites. Argh, decisions, decisions!
